Welcome to the Gatehouse Music Society’s 2025/26 season.
Our 2026/27 season brings live, exceptional quality musical experiences to the town, for the enjoyment of all. The programme has at its heart the appreciation of Scotland, its land culture, people and artists.
Our season will open with a performance by two musicians from our region – Will Archibald, cello and Kate Durran, piano. Our newly renovated Steinway will be played by the stupendous young Romanian pianist Daniel Ciobanu. RPS winner Matilda Lloyd, trumpet, with Martin Cousin gets 2027 off to a great start. Mid February, the piano trio, Atelier Ensemble travel from Glasgow to visit us. In March, Mhairi Lawson, soprano, collaborating with Eugene Asti, piano, will celebrate the influence of Scotland through a journey in song. Our season will conclude with a concert by Pirasti Trio with Sophie Renshaw.
All our artists are recognised as being very experienced at engaging with the audience and have spent time curating the programme for us.
We have designed the series to engage with the wider community. The majority of our concerts are in the afternoon and at weekends so as to make access, particularly during harsh weather easier. In order to continue to grow our audience and provide access to musical opportunities we will hold a composition workshop in November with the acclaimed Scottish composer Gillian Walker Gillian will guide participants through music composition on the theme of climate change to create a symphony of sound that combines a celebration of our environment with awareness of the climate change challenge and a musical response. For more information, please contact- chair@GatehouseMusicSociety.org.uk
Our membership remains at £65 and tickets on the door are £17. All concerts take place in Gatehouse Parish Church.

The Gatehouse Music Society has been organising concerts – mainly classical chamber, but occasionally jazz – for 75 years. Indeed, music making in Gatehouse goes back some 200 years, initially at the behest of the Church, but later due to the formation of various secular music groups and bands.
Over the years, the Music Society has become recognised for welcoming international, well known performers, up and coming musicians and musicians and ensembles from across the region.
Concerts usually take place in the Gatehouse of Fleet Parish Church and the Faed Gallery at The Mill on the Fleet. Both the church and the Faed Gallery have a wonderful acoustic. The Society currently organises seven concerts in its main programme running between September and May.
