Welcome to the Gatehouse Music Society’s 2023/24 season.

Welcome to our 2023/24 season of concerts and events,

This season is especially important for the Music Society as in 2024 we mark the 75th anniversary of the Gatehouse Music Society.

Gatehouse Music Society is proud to be part of a network of 70 Music Societies that
together form a Map of Music for Scotland – a place where Music Matters.
Together we put on hundreds of concerts per year, reaching audiences of thousands
generating income for emerging and established musicians and our local communities.
As we move towards our 75th anniversary, along with Perth (75th) and

Aberdeen (90th), we acknowledge with heartfelt thanks your continued support

Music Matters became the inspiration and theme behind our 2023/24 season. We are delighted to bring to your door step amazingly talented and truly excellent artists. Through our concerts and events we can together celebrate the enjoyment and power of music.

We are also building upon our “Be Inspired” initiative for young persons that we started last November. Events include an interview with Ethan Loch, a masterclass given by Martin Roscoe and Fenella Humphreys and by the Colin Currie Quartet and on the 5th November, our young musicians will give an afternoon concert.

Our membership is £50 for seven concerts and free entry to all our events.

Tickets on the door £15 per concert.

Other Local Concerts

The Gatehouse Music Society has been organising concerts – mainly classical chamber, but occasionally jazz – for over 73 years. Indeed, music making in Gatehouse goes back some 200 years, initially at the behest of the Church, but later due to the formation of various secular music groups and bands.

Over the years, the Music Society has become recognised for welcoming international, well known performers, up and coming musicians and musicians and ensembles from across the region.

Concerts usually take place in the Gatehouse of Fleet Parish Church and the Faed Gallery at The Mill on the Fleet. Both the church and the Faed Gallery have a wonderful acoustic. The Society organises four concerts a year- typically two in the autumn and two in the winter.
